Mixed fortunes on Saturday

Presteigne St Andrews came away from Hay St Marys Reserves with an impressive six-one victory in their Mid Wales League (South) victory.

Lewis Gilpin put Presteigne ahead in the first half, only for the home side to then come up with an equaliser.

Lewis Jones then restored Presteigne’s lead as they then went on to close out a comfortable victory.

It was to prove a memorable day for Lewis Jones who went on to score four goals, while Tom Lewis also found the net for Presteigne St Andrews.

CP Llanandras were at home against Knighton Town Reserves and this game was effectively put to bed in the first half.

Knighton’s second string headed to the dressing rooms at the break with a three-nil lead and, despite creating a few good opportunities in the second half, Bryn Roberts’ side was unable to make any inroads into the deficit.

On Friday, 22 October, , Presteigne St Andrews will host Brecon at Llanandras Park in a 7.30pm kick off, while it will be a trip to St Harmon for CP Llanandras on Saturday, 23 October.
