Presteigne St Andrews FC picked up their fourth win of the Mid Wales League (South) season when they beat CP Llanandras in the second derby match of the season at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 27 November.

This was a much tighter affair than the first meeting when Presteigne ran out comfortable seven-nil winners back in early September in what was the league’s opening fixture of the season.

Credit to both sides who came up with a good game of football in what were pretty dreadful conditions.

Storm Arwen hit the country on Saturday and Llanandras Park was not exactly immune from the effects of the bad weather.

But the sides both did their best to play football in the conditions and they produced a good spectacle for those fans who braved the elements.

The win meant Presteigne stay in touch with the leading sides in the division, but there was a feeling that, on the evidence of their efforts in this one, CP Llanandras’ first win might not be too far away.

Saturday, 4 December will see both sides in action – Presteigne St Andrews FC will host Talgarth Town while CP Llanandras will travel to Brecon.
