Mixed bag of results… or, in one case, non-result..

Shane Sutton was among the scorers for Presteigne at Dyffryn Banw

Presteigne St Andrews’ decision to reverse the Spar Mid Wales League fixture with Dyffryn Banw didn’t unsettle the players as they came away with a 2-0 victory.

Nick Evans and Shane Sutton were the Presteigne scorers as Tim Broome’s side kept in touch with the leading clubs in the division.

Presteigne Reserves’ manager Barry Williams was ‘not happy’ when his side’s Mid Wales League (South) top-of-the-table clash at Rhosgoch Rangers was abandoned early in the second half.

The referee determined conditions had deteriorated to the point where it was not safe to continue – the score at the time was 1-1, hence Barry not being best chuffed by the decision….

Unusually, this is the second abandonment of the Reserves’ season following on from the home game against Penybont United (ok, I’ll get my anorak now….).

CP Llanandras headed to Penybont Athletic looking for the win they needed to complete a league double, but it wasn’t to be as they went down 4-3.

Ed Duggan, Tom Hooper – with his second in as many games – and Tom Gibbs on his debut after joining from Knighton Town were the CP Llanandras scorers.

Full match reports will appear as soon as the managers get the details to me or – in CP Llanandras’ case – as soon as I have found the time to call in on ‘Crowie’ in the Farmers.

A reminder the first team are due at Knighton Town tomorrow afternoon for a Radnorshire Cup semi-final tie when the kick off will be at 2.00pm.

Due to the impending heavy rain we are being promised, it might be wise to check that game is going ahead as planned before heading over there – I will try and stick an update on the site tomorrow, but ‘no news will be good news’, so if there is nothing on here, then assume it is going ahead as planned.

If it does go ahead and if you are going, then please take a photo or two and email them in for use in a match report as I am otherwise engaged and won’t be able to get there

The Under 18s are due to be at home on Monday 1 March when they will take on Ledbury Swifts in the HFA Floodlit Youth League when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
