Carno served further notice of their title credentials with a 5-1 home win over Caersws Reserves to take over at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League.
As Caersws are bottom of the table, the result would not have come as a shock but Carno proved they are the side to catch.
Despite their defeat, Caersws Reserves remain within a point of Llanfyllin Town who were beaten 2-0 at home by Llanrhaeadr while Newbridge continued their recent improved form with a 4-2 home win over Hay St Marys.
Newbridge are now fourth-bottom – a point better off than Dolgellau – but they have played five games more.
At the top of the table, Aberystwyth Reserves are within a point of the leaders after a 3-2 win in a derby game at Bow Street.
Tywyn Bryncrug missed out on the chance to put pressure on the top sides when their scheduled game at Newtown Reserves was called off.
