Update on forthcoming games

There will be a Sunday pitch inspection ahead of the Reserves Monday match

Club chairman Alan Randell has been updating the website with the latest position with regard to the forthcoming fixtures.

After the Boxing Day match against Llanidloes Town was lost to the weather, there had been a suggestion that the game might be rescheduled for this coming Sunday – 2 January.

But an inspection at Llanandras Park earlier today revealed there was still some snow on the pitch and it was felt there was no way the pitch would be fit in time for Sunday’s game.

It was then suggested the game might be switched to Llanidloes Town’s home ground, but officials there have informed us there is now way their pitch would recover in time either.

The plan now is to try and reschedule the game at Llanidloes for Wednesday 5 January with a 7.30 kick off.

But Alan explained that this will depend on a number of factors and so the is not yet confirmed.

“Barry is getting around all his players to see how many would be available for a Wednesday-night trip to Llanidloes,” he said.

“Most of them will be back at work after the Christmas break and it depends if they can get away in time – we would have to be at Llanidloes for 6.30pm.

“Then, of course, we are dependent on Llani’s pitch recovering in time for Wednesday, so we shall have to wait and see,” he added.

Meanwhile, Alan has also confirmed there is to be a pitch inspection at Llanandras Park on Sunday 2 January ahead of the Reserves’ scheduled home match against Knighton Town on Monday 3 January.
