In order to try and speed up the flow of information about matches, postponements, team news and other breaking news, by way of an experiment, I have set up a Twitter account to run alongside the current club website.

If you use Twitter – and I admit to only being a recent convert myself – then you will be fully aware of the benefits of signing up as it is a source of immediate news updates.

The club has been registered as psafc_football and the account is already up and running, so if you are on Twitter then why not add us to the list of those you follow.

Before you ask, I wanted to register us as psafc, but wasn’t able to do so as this Twitter name was already taken – a Scandinavian football club, apparently – Mr Chairman, get on to them to arrange a friendly!

While the website will remain the main source of information for all matters to do with the club, there is no doubt that Twitter has its advantages in that quick updates can be added from mobile phones.

It will also allow more interactivity – in other words, people can have their say on club matters, as long as it is reasonable and not libellous(!).

Work commitments mean I don’t always have the time to stick up news stories on the site as quickly as I would like to, but adding a Tweet (as they are called) takes very little time and would at least mean the news gets out there until such time as I can then get a web story up.

I would stress that this will in no way reduce the amount of information that will be posted here – rather this is a way of getting that information out to a wider audience.
