Penybont Cup report and appeal for help

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Radnor Valley proved too good for the Reserves on the night

Presteigne Reserves are out of the Penybont Cup, but manager Andy Crowe had few complaints when he spoke to the website about the game.

‘Crowie’ felt his side had looked decent enough when they had had possession, but too often they were guilty of giving the ball away and Radnor Valley were more than good enough to capitalise as they ran out 5-3 winners.

Alan Stocker, Stuart Skidmore and Adam Crowe were on target for the Reserves but the squad will know they will have to tighten up defensively before they entertain Hay St Marys on Saturday 2 April.

The thoughts of ‘Crowie’ are included in a match report that has been posted on the Reserves page of the site.

Meanwhile, can you help out the club on Sunday afternoon?   Cup secretary Tom ‘Pie’ Edwards is after people to help out as the club is due to host two semi-final ties at Llanandras Park.

Talgarth Town will meet Rhayader Town in the Otway Cup semi-final in a 1.30pm kick off, while Presteigne Reserves are due to meet Builth Reserves in a Sparey Cup semi-final that is due to get underway at 4.30pm.

‘Pie’ says he is short of staff for both matches and so he would be grateful for all offers from anybody who can help out.

“At the moment I am looking for volunteers for the bar and the gate for both matches, as well as someone to run the tea hut for the second game,” he explained.

“I am grateful to Kirsty Evans who has offered to do the tea hut for the first game.

“Jack Watkins and Dave Bywater are refereeing or assisting in both matches while I will be assisting in the first game, and we are grateful to Liam Charles who has offered to do the second one,” he added.

Anyone who can help out, please speak to ‘Pie’ soonest, or you can email the website and I will pass on your details.
