Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Trevor Gummer has confirmed that pre-season training will get underway this Tuesday night – 28 June.
Trev says all players – old and new – are welcome to attend the session which will get underway on the school field at 6.30pm.
For those players who are thinking: ‘Lots of running early on, so might give that a miss..’, Trevor insists there will be a lot of ball work from the start.
“We will be going our best to make sure that it is as enjoyable as possible and, while there will inevitably be some fitness work, I am keen to get the balls out early on,” he said.
“I am going into this with the tag line: ‘More ball work than your average pre-season’ – gone are the days of non-top running until you are sick – well, I hope they are, anyway.
“Anyone who fancies playing for Presteigne this season will be very welcome to turn up on Tuesday evening and everyone will be given a fair crack of the whip,” he added.
