It all starts again tonight…

Presteigne St Andrews FCPresteigne St Andrews FC’s pre-season training sessions are due to get underway this evening – Tuesday 28 June as the new management team begins its preparations for the new campaign.

Players old and new are welcome to attend manager Trevor Gummer’s first session which will be held on the John Beddoes School field when things are due to get underway at 6.30pm.

Trev has promised that the balls will be out very early on in the sessions, so it won’t all be about repeatedly running up hills – honest!

The new management team is very keen to keep as many of last season’s first-team squad together as is possible but they are also open to any new players who feel they could do a job at Llanandras Park in the coming season.

Pre-season training is always a bit like kissing granny at Christmas – it is one of those jobs that has to be done, even though everyone knows it’s not as good as the real thing – (did I really just type that?), but Trev has promised he will do his level best to make the sessions as interesting as possible.

Look on the bright side – it could have been in the heat and humidity of last night – now that would have been hard work…
