Previews of the weekend action

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The first team head to Bont looking for the win they need to get things back on track

Presteigne St Andrews will head to Bont in the Spar Mid Wales League second division on Saturday, 1 October looking for the win they need to climb towards a mid-table position.

Bont are currently second-bottom of the table and are yet to win a league match in seven attempts this season, although they have so far only played two games at home.

Their last three matches have been on the road – they were beaten 2-1 at Kerry and, prior to this, they went down 4-0 at Abermule and 4-1 at Machynlleth.

The fact they pushed Kerry so close on their own ground suggests Bont are better than their current league position would suggest as Kerry looked half-decent when they played at Llanandras Park 10 days ago.

Meanwhile, the Reserves will be back at Llanandras Park when they will take on Sennybridge in a Mid Wales League (South) game (kick off 2.30pm).

Manager Stuart Skidmore will be looking to his side to add to the Breconshire club’s miserable start to the campaign in which ‘bridge have shipped an average of around eight goals per game.

Needless to say, Sennybridge are bottom of the table and are yet to register their first point, but Presteigne Reserves’ boss will be taking nothing for granted.

Not only has his own side’s form been a bit up and down – to say the least – but they will be well aware that there have already been shock results this season, not least when St Harmon recently beat Newcastle.

Stuart Millichamp is available again after his broken metatarsals while Kyle Chillery will also return to the squad after illness – John Bright is also available.

Tom Edwards will be missing from the squad while Andy Jones also misses out due to his red card at Talgarth last time out.

It is hoped to have the results up online at some stage on Saturday the evening of Saturday, 1 October with more detailed reports to follow as soon as the information becomes available.
