Presteigne St Andrews FC’s derby game against Knighton Town in the Spar Mid Wales League, second division is definitely ON for Saturday, 31 December.
Club chairman Alan Randell made an early-morning inspection of the Llanandras Park pitch and decreed it was perfectly playable.
“To be honest, it wasn’t looking too good last night, but then that wasn’t surprising after the heavy rain we had yesterday,” he said.
“There were parts of the pitch that looked waterlogged last night, but we have been down this morning and it looks far better.
“Barring a torrential downpour between now and kick off time there should be no problem, so we are looking forward to a good game and hopefully a decent crowd,” he added.
Supporters are reminded the kick off time for this match is at 12.00pm and they are advised to arrive early if they want a parking space.
Admission will be £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
