Thursday-night action for the Under-18s

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The Under 18s will be looking to bounce back after the disappointing defeat by Lads Club

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s will return to action on Thursday, 1 March when they will take on Leominster Minors in a HFA Floodlit Youth League match at Llanandras Park.

After a highly encouraging start to their season, the Under 18s have lost their last two matches – exiting the Giantkillers Cup when they were beaten by Hinton, and then losing out to league leaders Lads Club in their last match.

The fact both of these games were at Llanandras Park will be especially disappointing for manager Roy Simcock and his squad, so they will be doubly determined to turn around their fortunes against Leominster Minors.

While the Lads Club reversal ended any faint Presteigne hopes of taking the league title, they will go into this game knowing a win could help put the pressure on second-placed Ledbury.

Roy Simcock’s side will go into the match one place and one point better off than Leominster so it is clearly a big game for both sides as we head into the sharp end of the season.

The first meeting between the sides at Bridge Street in Leominster resulted in a 2-2 draw with Callum Davies on target for Presteigne and the other goal coming courtesy of a Leominster player who was unfortunate enough to put through his own goal.

The kick off at Llanandras Park for this one will be at 7.30pm and admission for the game will be £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
