Presteigne St Andrews FC’s chairman Alan Randell has confirmed today’s scheduled Otway Cup final between Knighton Town and Llandrindod Wells Town has been postponed.
A look out of the window would probably tell most of you the reason for this is was because of the fear of having to possibly send out the lifeboat at the Lugg View end of the ground…
In all seriousness, there will not have been too many people surprised by the decision as – for the benefit of those reading this from farther afield – it has been blowing a gale and hammering down with rain since about three o’clock this morning.
But cup secretary Tom Edwards has moved quickly to reschedule the final – it will now be played on Sunday, 20 May with a 2.30pm kick off.
Our thanks to both Knighton Town FC and Llandrindod Wells FC for agreeing the date so readily and we now look forward to a good final at Llanandras Park on that date – even it is the day after the club dinner and one or two of the locals might not be feeling 100 percent…
