Presteigne St Andrews FC’s club chairman Mark Weiland has confirmed that The FAW Cup tie against Radnor Valley, scheduled for Saturday, 10 July has been postponed.

Despite our being originally drawn away from home, the game had been switched to Llanandras Park as Radnor’s new ground isn’t yet ready to host matches.

But we have been informed this week that a number of Radnor Valley players have tested positive for Covid-19.

Apparently a number of other players have to self-isolate as they have been in close contact with those who have tested positive – not surprising, perhaps, given they have been in pre-season training for several weeks.

Quite what this means for the FAW Cup tie isn’t yet clear but no doubt we will be advised in the next few days.

But, the overriding thing is the health of those directly involved and we send our best wishes to those Radnor Valley players affected by the virus and wish them all the very best for a speedy recovery.
