Ressies leave it late, but score three in five minutes

My thanks to Reserve-team boss Mark Weiland who was quick off the mark with his match report on the team’s fine 4-1 win at Llandrindod Wells Reserves on Wednesday, 23 April.

Gareth Bull scored after half an hour following a neat one-two with Spencer Napolitano and we led led 1-0 at half-time,” said Mark.

“Llan’dod equalised from the spot after a foul from Danny Ives, but we then had all the chances.

“With five minutes to go, I put a long ball through to Duane Anning who lobbed the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

“Then we scored from another long ball and the hard-working Callum Mathews finished after rounding the goalkeeper.

“Oliver Jones scored the fourth – a great strike low into the corner from about 20 yards out.

“This was another good three points and, while it’s going to be hard to finish second, we’re in good form, so you never know.”
