Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled Mid Wales League (South) match against St Harmon due to be played on Saturday, 18 October has been postponed.
There was always likely to be some doubt over the match given the first team took on Hay St Marys on the same Llanandras Park pitch on the previous evening.
That match was played in heavy rain and so it was inevitable the groundsman, Tracy Hammond, and club officials were going to take an early-morning look at the ground on Saturday.
This inspection confirmed their suspicions that parts of the pitch were unplayable and so the match has been postponed.
Our apologies to St Harmon, but – to put it in layman’s terms – it caned it down throughout the Hay game and, even last night, there were concerns as to what state the pitch might be in this morning.
As soon as we get a rescheduled date for the game we will post the details here on the website.
