Congratulations to Edward Traylor who has been elected the new President of Presteigne St Andrews FC.

The decision was among a number of appointments made at the club’s Annual General Meeting which was held at Llanandras Park on Tuesday, 16 June.

Commenting on his election, Edward said he regarded it as being a great honour to have been handed the top job.

“I am delighted to have been offered the chance to be the club’s President and am looking forward to my time in the job,” said Edward.

“Tony Wood will be a tough act to follow as he has been an excellent President for the past two years.

“I have a long association with Presteigne St Andrews and played for the club alongside the likes of Gerald Collett, Des Perkins and Mick Herrits.

“The committee has worked hard during the past year to get things heading in the right direction and I hope to play a part in helping the club move forward in the next couple of years,” he added.

Andrew Crowe was re-elected chairman of the club, with Tom Ammonds as his vice-chairman and secretary.

Tom has, though, relinquished the post of cup secretary with Alan Stocker taking on this role for the coming season.

The committee was re-elected en bloc while it was agreed Ioan Hughes, Sue Williams and Heidi Mecke-Burford should all be invited to join.

There were no changes to the either the rules of the club or the social club, while the rules of both the Otway and Sparey Cups also remain unchanged.
