The Reserves will be back at home for the first time in three months.

The weekend is looming up in front of us and, given that we are, for once, not in the midst of the Mid Wales monsoon, there is every chance we might get to see some football.

The first team will still doubtless be licking their wounds after last Saturday’s home defeat by Radnor Valley, but they have to put that behind them quickly and move on.

Specifically, they will move on to Abermule – an Abermule side that is two places above Mark Weiland’s side in the Spar Mid Wales League, second division table.

But this doesn’t tell the whole of the story – Abermule might by only two places above Presteigne, but they are 11 points better off than we are and they have four games in hand.

Their home record is also pretty smokey this season – they have won six out of eight games on their own patch.

As for the Reserves, they will be back at ‘Stadio Llanandras’ for the first time since God’s dog was a puppy… well, Saturday, 28 November, anyway.

Builth Wells Reserves will be the visitors for this one and both sides will be eyeing up this game for a potential three points.

The Reserves’ home form is far better than their results on the road, so Duane Anning and John Bright will be keen for them to build on what is a reasonably solid home record.

Builth’s second string are third-bottom of the table, but they are only four points behind the Reserves, so they will see this as being a good chance to progress.

The Reserves’ game at Llanandras Park will kick off at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
