Presteigne Reserves opened their pre-season programme with a 3-3 draw at Holme Lacy Reserves.

Joint-player-manager Mark Weiland said this had been a very good work out for his side.

“This was a good start by us – we played three 30-minutes periods and we totally dominated the first one in which Tom Crichton scored a hat-trick in that period,” said Mark.

“In the second period Holme Lacy came much more into it and they pulled a goal back.

“In the last 30 they played some good stuff and they got it back to 3-3.

“We did miss three really good chances to win the game while we also had a goal ruled out for offside.

“It was a really good work out for us and was just what we needed from a first pre-season game.

“Pre-season is going really well and the lads are really enjoying the sessions Shaun is putting on.

“Hopefully we can have another good session on Tuesday night ahead of our next pre-season game in which we will take on Clee Hill at Llanandras Park on Friday, 28 July.’
