Let’s hope the worst of the wintry weather stays away from the LD8 postcode as the first team is due to take on Abermule in a Spar Mid Wales League, second-division game.

Presteigne go into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw at Newbridge-on-Wye in their previous outing – a result that was achieved with something of a depleted squad.

As for Abermule, they will arrive at Llanandras Park unbeaten in the league this year with an impressive 4-2 win at Hay St Mary’s in their last game on 3 February.

This run of form has lifted them to eighth in the table – one point and one place behind Presteigne but with three games in hand.

Presteigne manager Shaun Harris says there will be changes to last week’s squad.

“We are without Tyler, Kai, Simon, Rambo and Matt Marlow – Kai, Simon and Rambo are all injured .,” said Shaun.

“We welcome back this week Tom Crichton, Dan Brazier, Matt Strangwood and Joel Layton after missing last weeks game away at Newbridge.”

The kick off at Llanandras Park in this one will be at 2.30pm.

As for the Reserves, they have no game on Saturday, 10 February but will aiming to build on their excellent recent form on Tuesday, 13 February when they will entertain Hay St Mary’s Reserves in a Mid Wales League (South) game that is due to kick off at 7.30pm.
