The Reserves take centre stage this weekend

Once again, there is no match scheduled for the first team this weekend, so all attention on Saturday, 17 March will be firmly focused on the first team.

Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker’s side will host Llandrindod Wells Reserves in a Mid Wales League (South) game at Llanandras Park where the kick off is scheduled for 2.30pm.

No doubt Tom Ammonds will head down to the ground at some stage on Friday just ‘to take a look’ at the state of the pitch.

Not only have we had snow and rain over the past few weeks, but there was heavy rain in the Presteigne area early on Friday morning so ‘Ammo’ will probably feel it’s worth a look.

But, at the moment, it is very much ‘game on’ for the Reserves and they’ll be keen to press on in their hopes of securing a top-three finish in the league this season.

Third-placed Newcastle – who host Hay St Mary’s Reserves on Saturday – are within their sights, but the Ressies will know they can ill-afford to drop too many more points if they are to overhaul them.

Llandrindod Wells Reserves arrive at Llanandras Park with four wins from their opening 14 games.

They have lost their last two games – away at Builth Wells Reserves and Newcastle – and last won in the league on 13 January when they came away from St Harmon with a 3-1 victory.

Admission prices for the game on Saturday will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
