Presteigne Reserves will be aiming to round off their competitive programme for the season on Friday, 18 May by winning the club’s own Alfred Sparey Memorial Cup.

Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker’s side will take on Llanidloes Town Reserves in a 7.30pm kick off at Llanandras Park.

Our thanks to the Sparey family for their continuing and valued support of the competition.

We would also like to thank Rees and Co for sponsoring the match ball for tonight’s game.

This has the  makings of a good contest as Llanidloes Town Reserves pushed Rhayader Town in the Mid Wales League (South) title race for much of the season.

In the end, the Daffs’ second string had to make do with runners-up spot as they finished four points behind Rhayader, but this is to take nothing away from what was clearly a fine season.

Presteigne Reserves ended the season in fifth place after Builth Wells Reserves won both of their final matches to pip us for fourth spot by a point.

So, it has all the ingredients for being a good game tonight – the weather is looking good and, let’s face it, there haven’t been many times we have said that this season.

So, a 7.30pm kick off at Llanandras Park – here’s hoping the Reserves can finish the season on a high note.
