A welcome win for the first team

Thanks also to first-team manager Shaun Harris who has forwarded me his thoughts in Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Abermule.

“This result was very pleasing from our point of view,” said Shaun.

”We’ve actually played better football in previous games but haven’t scored the goals to go with the performances.

“We had a change in formation on Saturday which worked both on and off the ball.

“The main thing that impressed me was the work rate off the ball, something of which I’m often critical .

“We aren’t getting carried away and there was certainly no jumping around from any of us in the changing rooms after the match.

“We know we have to back the result up next week and we hope this gives us the belief moving forward.

“We’ve picked up two more injuries both hamstring problems with Curtis Williams and Sam Roberts.

“Had Curtis stayed on the pitch I think he’d have score two or three more.

“He looks settled and starting to show people why I signed him.

“We as a team have had to put up with a lot of criticism over the last few months but I really don’t think it bothers us.

“It would bother me if we were miles off but we are competing well in a league which has improved massively this season.

“We can now look forward to a trip to Borth.”
