Presteigne St Andrews FC came away from their home MMP with Norman Lloyd League second division game against Hay St Mary’s on Saturday, 12 January with a point from a 3-3 draw.
Hay are targeting promotion this season and so this was always likely to be a stiff test of Shaun Harris’ side.
But, to their credit, they dug in and – in most people’s eyes – they were good value for their point.
Presteigne led three times in the game courtesy of goals from Tom Crichton, Tom Lewis and Neil Walmsley.
It was 3-2 to the home side at the interval but there is a reason why Hay are pushing towards the top of the table and they hit back again after the break to earn a draw.
But the general view was that the first team deserved their share of the spoils and that this had been a much-improved performance.
Here’s hoping they can build on that when they head to Abermule for a league match on Saturday, 19 January.
If you are planning on heading up to Abermule for that game a reminder that it is due to kick off at 2 o’clock.
