Tough weekend all round

A disappointing weekend all round

Sadly it was to prove a fruitless weekend for Presteigne St Andrews FC as both the first team and the Reserves finished with nothing to show for their efforts.

First up, it was the first team on Friday evening when they were to host Radnor Valley in the MMP with Norman Lloyd League Cup first round.

Given that Radnor play their league football a level higher this was always likely to be a tough ask and ultimately this was the way it turned out.

Radnor headed for home with a place in the next round courtesy of a 3-0 victory at Llanandras Park and so our interest in the competition is over for another season.

On Saturday afternoon the Reserves headed to Llanidloes Town Reserves for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.

Again, the Daffs’ second string was always likely to present a challenge as they have been among the leading sides in the division for the past few seasons.

Bryn Roberts’ side was unable to make any inroads into the home team and ended up on the wrong end of a 2-0 score line.

This result leaves the Ressies still at the foot of the table although they are still very much in touch with the clubs immediately above them.
