Presteigne St Andrews FC and Presteigne Reserves were both beaten in their opening matches of 2020.
The first team hosted Dolgellau in their MMP with Norman Lloyd, second-division fixture at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 4 January.
But it was the visitors who made the long trip home with the three points after they proved too strong for Alan Stocker’s side with a 5-1 victory.
As for the Reserves, they were also well beaten in their Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Penybont United.
Bryn Roberts’ side ended up on the wrong end of a 7-2 scoreline.
This defeat – combined with Rhayader Town Reserves’ 4-0 home win over Builth Wells Reserves saw the Ressies drop one spot to eleventh place in the league table.
