Both games fall victim to the weather

Presteigne St Andrews FC
That'll be another game called off, then...

Unfortunately it was to prove another blank weekend for Presteigne St Andrews FC as the overnight frost led to both scheduled matches being postponed.

Club chairman Alan Randell described Llanandras Park as being ‘rock hard’ when he did a pitch inspection at around 11.00am and he was left with no option other than to call off the Reserves’ match against Llandrindod Wells Reserves.

Yet more frustration, then, for Andy Crowe and his reserve-team squad who have now played only two of their scheduled last 11 matches.

Meanwhile, the first team was due to head to Llansantffraid Village but that one also went west – officials at Llansantffraid found themselves in the same position as those at Llanandras Park.

Barry Williams’ side is not much better off than the Reserves – they have played only two of their scheduled last 10 games – things have surely got to get better before too long.

Still, look on the bright side – you could have been a guy called Peter McMillan who was due to cover Worcester City’s game at Workington in the wilds of Cumbria for BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Despite calling the club twice en route to the game, he got there to find the match officials about to call it off due to the state of the pitch – so, a nine-hour round trip and all for nothing….
