Good turn out for first training session…

Presteigne St Andrews FC
All bow down to the new manager - you know it makes sense!

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s first pre-season training session was well supported with around 30 players turning out for manager Trevor Gummer’s first run out on the school field.

As promised, there was a lot of ball work from the word ‘go’ and the session seemed to go down well with those who turned out for it.

Looking in from the outside, it appeared as though there was a lot of emphasis on mobility and speed and it certainly would have served to dust out those cobwebs from the close season.

Trevor said he was pleased with the level of support and will be looking for similar levels of commitment between now and the big kick off, which is likely to be on Saturday, 13 August and probably a Welsh Cup tie.

There will be news posted online soon regarding the pre-season friendly matches for both the first team and the Reserves as these appear to be dropping into place.

More details on the way just as soon as I get them – but it is likely the first team will play at least three pre-season games with the Reserves looking for a similar amount of friendlies.

It was also confirmed this evening that the club has entered the Ludlow Cup – which is a pre-season competition – but the date is not yet through for the first round tie in that one.
