Adge looks to rally the troops

Adriano plans to be in touch with as many players as possible

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s new manager Adriano Girolami says everyone will get their chance in the build up to the new season.

Adge is stressing that while there will inevitably be some fitness work, pre-season will major on warm-up matches and the club’s new general manager Trevor Gummer has been busy arranging fixtures.

Adriano has been in touch with players from last season and those from years gone by and has issued a rallying cry as he attempts to turn around the club’s fortunes.

“In order to get the football club back to where it should be we need everyone to pull together,” he said.

“There will be changes as there need to be changes from last year if we are to improve the team.

“But I don’t want to completely change everything as that’s unfair so I will be in contact with everyone regarding pre-season,” he added.

Adge is aware his appointment might not go down well with everyone, but points out that could be said of any new manager and especially one who, like him, is returning to a club for a second spell.

“I have heard a few things and to be honest not all of them have been positive but if I listen to that then we are going to get nowhere,” he said.

“I would rather hear it from the players themselves and, if you are not interested in coming back, then just let me know and I will remove you from the texting list.

“But the bottom line is that if we are going to move forward we need positivity,” he added.

Details of the pre-season friendly programme will be posted online as soon as they become available.
