Ressies to host Llan’dod on Tuesday night

Tuesday-night action under the lights for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves will again go in search of that first Mid Wales League (South) win of the season on Tuesday, 4 September when they will host Llandrindod Wells Reserves at Llanandras Park.

After a couple of battling performances in which the Ressies went down by the odd goal in games against good opposition in Newcastle and Radnor Valley, the wheel came off the cart at the weekend.

Builth Wells Reserves – who were again likely to be a better-than-average outfit – underlined that assessment by thumping the Ressies 7-3 at Llanandras Park.

Whilst I have not heard the definitive word from ‘da management’ on that one, I think we can all safely assume that it wasn’t the finest performance of the season to date and so Bobby Morgan and Mark Weiland will be looking to the squad to step things up a notch or three for the Llan’dod Reserves game.

The kick off this evening will be at 7.30pm and it’s hoped to have the result up online at some stage late this evening, followed by a match report as soon as I can nail down one or other of the managers.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed the Reserves will be on the road this weekend [Saturday, 8 September] when they will head to the Racecourse to take on Penybont.

The ‘bont were another strong side last season when they won the Emrys Morgan Cup and were right in the Mid Wales League (South) title hunt until the sheer volume of games caught up with them late in the campaign.
