Presteigne St Andrews FC’s chairman Alan Randell has confirmed there is to be a committee meeting on Tuesday, 9 July, starting at 7.30pm.
This is to be held at the clubhouse as the temperatures are now officially well above the frostbite levels they were when we last met at Llanandras Park in the depths of winter.
Our thanks to club treasurer Rose Weiland for very kindly making her front room (and kettle) available for the last few meetings.
Alan points out it is some time since we last had a regular committee meeting – it was back when God’s dog was still a puppy – so he is urging all committee members to make the extra effort to attend this one.
Among the many items that will be up for discussion will be our thoughts on the likely make up of the Spar Mid Wales League’s second division this season given there are only 10 clubs in it.
Brace yourselves for an extended version of the ER Jenkins Cup for second division clubs – I know, you can barely contain your excitement, although – to be fair to those running the league – apparently some clubs don’t want to play each other four times in a league season, so this is the next best option.
Then, there will be the beer festival and fun day scheduled for the August Bank Holiday weekend when it will be all hands to the (beer) pumps as we look to make a few quid for the club going forward.
All this, plus a whole lot more is promised for those turning up at the meeting – Tuesday night at the clubhouse when proceedings will get underway at 7.30pm.
