Home matches in the Otway and Sparey Cups

My thanks to Presteigne St Andrews FC’s cup secretary Tom Ammonds for forwarding me the latest news regarding our ties in both the Presteigne Otway Cup and the Alfred Sparey Cup.

Tom tells me Presteigne Reserves will host Radnor Valley on Tuesday, 5 November in their quarter-final tie in the Alfred Sparey Cup.

The kick off in that one will be at 7.30p and I am sure that player-manager Mark Weiland and his side would welcome as much support as possible for a game that will probably have the usual added spice associated with any derby game.

Meanwhile, the first team will host Kington Town in their Presteigne Otway Cup tie on Tuesday, 19 November when the kick off will again be at 7.30pm.

Tom points out that both of these matches will, of course, be ‘weather permitting’ as we have to be mindful of the risk of possible damage to the pitch should there be too many games on Llanandras Park in a short space of time.

But, fingers crossed, these games will go ahead as scheduled and here’s hoping both Presteigne sides can progress.
