Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s battled out a 2-2 draw with visiting Westfields in their HFA Floodlit Youth League match at Llanandras Park on Thursday 28 November.
Roy Simcock’s side took the lead in the first half through Greg Parkes, but Westfields were level before the interval after they scored from the penalty spot.
All square at the break, Presteigne went in search of what they hoped might be the winner and they regained the lead when Kyle Slaven found the net.
But Presteigne were unable to hold on to the lead and Westfields hit back again to earn a point when they netted their second goal in the dying stages of the game.
While Roy Simcock will no doubt be disappointed that his side was twice in front but still couldn’t take all three points, this result still represented an improvement on the first meeting between the sides in which Westfields ran out 4-2 winners at allpay Park.
