While both the first team and the Reserves were beaten by their respective Ewyas Harold teams on Saturday, 25 July, there were reportedly still plenty of positives to be taken from these matches.
“We were 4-0 down at down at half-time but, to be honest, I didn’t think we had played that badly in the first half.
“After the break, Josh Gardner then went on the rampage and scored a proper hat-trick – left foot, right foot, and a header.
“I believe Ieaun Crowe scored the other goal for us, but I was on food duty so I am not 100 percent sure about that.
“Then the Reserves played their Ressies and, although we lost 4-3, Josh was at it a again as he scored a ‘worldy’.
“It really was one of the best goals I have ever seen scored down at the ground.
“Tom Crichton also scored but, again, I am not sure on the other one, as I was again stuck in the kitchen doing the cooking!”
