Another good crowd is expected for derby day at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews FC will welcome old rivals Radnor Valley to Llanandras Park for a Spar Mid Wales League, second-division match on Saturday, 20 February.

That rivalry has, of course, traditionally been in the Mid Wales League (South), but Radnor Valley won promotion to the Spar Mid Wales League at the end of last season.

They have taken the step up very much in their stride and they currently sit in fourth place in the league table, so will be very satisfied with their season’s work to date.

In terms of their results this season, it has been very much ‘feast or famine’ for Radnor – they have either won or lost as they are yet to draw a league match after 17 outings.

But it is certainly much more feast than famine as they have won 11 of those games and Steve Pigott has clearly got Radnor playing well this season.

They have certainly held the whip hand over Presteigne so far this season with a 3-1 victory at Llanandras Park in the Central Wales Cup back in October, and then a 2-0 win at Radnor in the league match at Christmas.

Our thanks to Andy Weale who has kindly sponsored this weekend’s match – we are very grateful to Andy for his continued support of the club.

There is no game for the Reserves this weekend, so all the focus will be on events at Llanandras Park and it’s hoped there will be a good derby crowd for this one.

Admission prices for the game will be the usual £2.50 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16 and the kick off on Saturday afternoon will be at 2.30pm.
