Reserve-team joint-manager Duane Anning has been in touch with his thoughts on the 3-2 home reversal by Brecon Northcote in their Mid Wales League (South) meeting on Saturday, 26 March.
“We went into this game probably a bit more confident than we did against Newcastle,” he said.
“We started off really well but then gave away a penalty which they scored.
But we then we pulled one back through Josh Gardner and thing were looking good when we went 2-1 up just before half-time courtesy of Merv Stephens.
“In the second half we came out and initially created a few chances but we didn’t convert them. and, sure enough, they then levelled.
“I then made too many changes so as to give everyone a run out as we had six on the bench.
“This was probably our downfall as they then went on to score a third and we couldn’t get back in it .
“We have a busy weekend coming up with Rhayader Town Reserves at home on Saturday and then another game on Sunday in which we take on Orleton Reserves in the Newcastle Cup – that will be a 5.00pm kick offl
“Then, on Tuesday night, we will be back to it again in the league when we have a game away at Knighton Town Reserves.”
