Presteigne St Andrews FC would like to pass on our thanks to Jordan McQueen who has carried out vital work in trimming the trees at the Lugg View end of the ground.

Anyone who has ever been involved in this job in the past will know it is very hard work and we are grateful to Jordan for taking it on.

The residents who live in the properties immediately behind the hedge quite reasonably say that, when the trees reach a certain height, they start to impact on the amount of daylight reaching their houses.

So, Jordan took on the task that was trimming the trees back to a reasonable level that allows more light into the properties while also ensuring the hedge still proves a reasonable barrier in preventing too many footballs ending up in the gardens of the houses concerned.

We are also grateful to the residents in those houses for their patience as clearly we had to wait for the right weather for Jordan to do the job – I am sure they would appreciate it wouldn’t be a great day out to be up there trimming trees in a monsoon.

So, once again, many thanks to Jordan for his efforts – they are much appreciated by the committee and grounds staff at Llanandras Park.
