Presteigne St Andrews FC will return to Spar Mid Wales League second-division action on Saturday, 1 October.

They will be on the road again when they will head to Montgomeryshire for a game against Abermule.

Manager Tom Ammonds is expecting a testing afternoon but is confident his players will be up for the challenge.

“I think they have started reasonably well and haven’t lost yet at home,” said Tom.

“So, it’s going to be a tough one for us but it’s another chance to see how far we have progressed.

“I believe they [Abermule] played Builth at home a couple of weeks ago and were 4-1 down but came back to win 5-4,” he added.

Danny Evans might well feature for the Reserves on Friday, 30 September as he continues his comeback from injury while Josh Gardner is also likely to miss out.

Luke Brimfield has rejoined the club and is now playing outfield although, of course, he could still feature as a goalkeeper should the need arise.

It is hoped to have the result of the game and a report up online at some stage across the weekend.
