Nothing to show for our efforts this weekend

It was to prove another disappointing weekend for Presteigne St Andrews FC as both the first team and the Reserves were beaten in their respective matches on Saturday, 26 November.

It was an ER Jenkins Cup exit for the first team, but they did put up a good showing before bowing out after extra time at Llansantffraid Village.

Twice behind in the initial 90 minutes, Matt Strangwood netted from the penalty spot while Josh Gardner was also on target to square the game at 2-2.

But the home side then closed out the match in the extra half-hour as they went on to score two more to run out 4-2 victors.

Meanwhile, the Reserves were beaten 4-0 in their Mid Wales League (South) game at Knighton Town Reserves.

While this was clearly a setback for Dale Tomkins’ side, they will need to pick themselves up and go again when they take on Caersws Reserves in the J Emrys Morgan Cup at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 3 December.
