As had been half-expected, Presteigne Reserves’ home Mid Wales League (South) fixture against Builth Wells Reserves scheduled for Wednesday, 1 February has been postponed.
The original plan was to take a look at the pitch at around 2.00pm on Wednesday afternoon, but the heavy rain of yesterday evening and last night meant it was an easy call for Wednesday morning.
“We had our doubts on Tuesday night parts of the pitch were pretty we at that stage,” said vice-chairman Tom Ammonds.
“But it didn’t take too long to confirm our fears this morning – there is no way we could have played on the ground this evening.
“The Reserves have seven league games remaining, while Builth have only six, so I am sure we’ll fit it in somewhere without too much trouble,” he added.
The Reserves are next in action a week tonight – Wednesday, 8 February – when they are due to host Hay St Mary’s Reserves.
