Presteigne St Andrews FC will host Dyffryn Banw in a Spar Mid Wales League, second-division game at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 18 February.

This game will kick off at the later time of 3.00pm due to the funeral of former Presteigne player, Johnny Morris which is due to take place at St Andrew’s Church in Norton at 11.00am on Saturday morning.

As for the game itself, Presteigne manager Tom Ammonds knows his side will be taking on a side that has run into form in the past few games.

If you would like to see a video of Tom’s thoughts on the prospects for this one, then you can do so by clicking here or on the image at the top of the page.

Dyffryn Banw were second-bottom of the table at the end of January, but back-to-back league wins over Newbridge at home (3-2) and Abermule, away (4-3) have lifted them to ninth in the table.

Presteigne will take heart from their improved performance in last Saturday’s outing when they pushed the leaders, Kerry, all the way before going down 2-1 at Llanandras Park.

There is no game for the Reserves this weekend while it’s also been confirmed their scheduled home match against Knighton Town Reserves on Saturday, 25 February has been postponed.

Knighton reportedly have a stag weekend which is going to involve a large number of their squad so the sides will have to find a new date for that fixture.

Admission prices for the home game against Dyffryn Banw will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
