No joy for the Ressies at home to Builth

Presteigne Reserves slipped to a 5-2 home defeat against Builth Wells Reserves in their Mid Wales League (South) game on Saturday, 25 March.

But manager Dale Tomkins and his side must be wondering just how they came away from this match with nothing to show for their efforts.

In truth, the Reserves were the architects of their own downfall after gifting Builth four of their five goals, while then conspiring to miss a host of their own good opportunities.

That is now three successive home defeats for the Reserves and a season that promised so much is in danger of fading away.

Three-down at half-time, goals from Tom Lewis and Tom Crichton ensured the home side was right back in the game at 3-2, but it then slipped away from them as Builth netted two more – the final goal from the penalty spot.

The Reserves have no fixture this coming weekend [Saturday, 1 April], but will return to action on Saturday, 8 April when they will head to Llanidloes Town Reserves.
