Presteigne St Andrews FC’s pre-season training programme is stepping up in intensity as the club prepares for the new Spar Mid Wales League season.

But the encouraging factor is that there have been good turnouts for all of the sessions so far.

Manager Shaun Harris says he has been pleased by the commitment and ability shown by those turning out in what is always a difficult time of year due to holidays and other factors.

“You need good numbers to make a good session of it,” said Shaun.

“I don’t think a lot of them are used to training as hard as we have so far but it’s going to pay off in the long run.

“We want to start the season strongly and if we can get a really good pre-season behind us then it’s going to give us the best chance,” he added.

There will be a second video between now and the weekend when Shaun will take a squad to Ludlow Town FC for another pre-season game.
