Presteigne St Andrews FC’s latest arrival is in line to make a debut in the long away trip to Dolgellau on Saturday, 26 August.

The as yet unnamed addition to the squad reportedly has a ‘good engine’ and should make a major difference to the squad.

We are very grateful to Mrs Sue Wood from Kinsham for her generous donation of the funding to buy a minibus for the club.

You can watch a video of Tom Ammonds and manager Shaun Harris taking a look at the new vehicle by clicking here or on the image at the top of this item.

Vice-chairman Tom Ammonds says the vehicle should help engender the kind of team spirit both management teams are looking for heading into this season.

“It’s going to benefit both teams which was the whole point of getting it,” said Tom.

“It will keep everyone together on match days so we can only thank Sue Wood for her kind donation.

“It’s ten years old and has come from a Primary School in Hereford.

“It has only done 29,000 [miles] and so if we get five years’ use out of it then it will certainly have got its money back,” he added.

First-team manager Shaun Harris has also welcomed this latest addition to the club.

“We’ll travel with a full bus of 17 so,  yes, we are looking forward to that one,” said Shaun.

“I’m sure we’ll have a good bonding session on the way home as well which is always nice with some new players in.”

The bus will be for the use of both the first team and Reserves and there are currently five designated drivers with club chairman Andy Crowe leading from the front on this one as he is behind the wheel for the trip to Dolgellau.
