I know, this is not going to come as a massive surprise to anyone, but a cursory glance at the pitch this morning led to us taking the inevitable decision that the home match against Montgomery Town on Saturday, 3 March has been postponed.

Fair play to club secretary Tom Ammonds for heading down to Llanandras Park to take a look at the conditions – he could probably have made the call from under his duvet…

In racing terms, the going was ‘rock hard; good to firm in places’ – and that was under the snow that is blanketing the pitch.

In all seriousness, even if by some miracle the pitch had been ok, we would have called off the game anyway due to the travelling conditions for Montgomery Town.

For those of you not in the Mid Wales area – or even in the UK – we have had a couple of days of sub-zero temperatures and snow, with the promise of more snow to come on Friday afternoon and into Saturday.

The Reserves were not due to have a game this weekend, so that is one less thing to worry about.

Unless the Montgomery game is rearranged fairly quickly, the first team will now not return to action until Saturday, 24 March when they are due to head to Dyffryn Banw for a Spar Mid Wales League, second-division game.
