Remember – the first team go TO Montgomery this weekend

Presteigne St Andrews FC will head to Montgomery Town on Saturday, 14 April looking to build on the 1-1 draw in the home game against Abermule on Wednesday, 11 April.

Kieran Lusher put Presteigne ahead from the penalty spot early in the second half of that one and it looked as though the first team was going to hold on for a welcome three points.

But Abermule came up with an equaliser three minutes into added time to deny Presteigne the victory.

However, that result stopped the rot for Shaun Harris’ side and they will be looking to build on that when they head to a Montgomery side that is below them in the Spar Mid Wales League, second-division table.

This game was originally due to be at Llanandras Park but, after consultation between the clubs and league officials, it has been switched to Montgomery.

We will now host Montgomery Town at Llanandras Park on Wednesday, 25 April with a 7.30pm kick off.

Meanwhile, the Reserves will be in League Cup semi-final action in which they will take on Llandrindod Wells Reserves at The Broadway in a 2.30pm kick off.

The winners of this tie will face either Rhayader Town or Llanidloes Town Reserves in the final of the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales League (South) Cup on a date and at a venue yet to be decided.

Good luck to both sides – here’s hoping they can both come home with a victory.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the first team will take on Knighton Town in the semi-final of the Presteigne Otway Cup on Wednesday, 18 April when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
