Presteigne Reserves continued their recent good form with a fine 7-1 home win over Knighton Town Reserves on Friday, 27 April.

The Reserves were 4-0 up at half-time and then closed out the game after the break.

This result – coupled with Newcastle’s defeat at Rhayader Town on Saturday, 28 April – means the Reserves can still finish third in the table, but Newcastle would have to fail to pick up a point in any of their final three fixtures.

The game doubled up as an Alfred Sparey Cup tie and so the Reserves also progressed in that competition

Rhayader’s victory over Newcastle confirmed the Weirglodd side as champions-elect of the Mid Wales League (South) for this season – congratulations to Rhayader on their title success.

The Reserves have two games remaining in their league season – both are technically away from home, but the Felindre game on Thursday, 3 May will be played at Llanandras Park.

Mark Weiland and Alan Stocker’s side will round off their season at Builth Wells Reserves on Thursday, 10 May, but they will also feature in the Pip Samuel (Electrical) Cup final on Sunday, 6 May.
