Presteigne St Andrews FC’s manager Shaun Harris admitted he and his players had been bitterly disappointed by the way in which they had shipped six second-half goals in going down 6-0 at home to Waterloo Rovers on Saturday, 18 August.

“Having gone it at half-time with the score at 0-0 and to then concede six second-half goals – it’s hard to take,” said Shaun.

“Missing key players might have been a factor with the in-form Duane Anning on holiday and Sam Roberts also away.

“This changed our attacking shape and we found chances hard to come by.

“To make matters worse Sammy Harrison, who’s still yet to kick a ball for Presteigne, was called in by his work so was unable to play.

“Other notable absentees were Matt Venables at the back who, after a man-of-the-match performance at Machynlleth, is now sadly injured along with Chris Evans who has a rib problem.

“Unfortunately at the moment we can’t afford to have anyone missing so hopefully we will have a few back next week.

“I can’t complain about the result and Waterloo – on their second-half performance – more than deserved their win.

“It’s one defeat so let’s pick ourselves up this week and put on a better showing this coming weekend against Four Crosses.”
