Here’s hoping the Ressies can kick off the weekend in fine style

Presteigne Reserves will host Llanidloes Town Reserves in a Mid Wales League (South) fixture on Friday, 26 October.

Just a reminder that this game will be a home fixture – originally it was due to be at Llanidloes, but it has since been switched to Llanandras Park.

Alan Stocker will now be assisted by Tom Ammonds as the pair tries to turn around the Reserves’ season that started so promisingly but which has fallen away somewhat since they hammered Brecon Northcote Reserves 9-1 on 4 September.

It is no win in seven games in all competitions since then for the Ressies, but they did show plenty of fighting spirit in the 3-3 draw at St Harmon last time out.

With less than five minutes remaining the Reserves trailed 3-1, but Jack Brindley’s late brace salvaged a point.

So, here’s hoping they can build on that against a Llanidloes Town Reserves side that has won four of its seven league matches so far this season.

The sides last met in the Summer Cup final at Llanidloes – the traditional curtain-raiser to the Mid Wales League (South) season – in which Llani’s second string came through 4-3.

The kick off at Llanandras Park on Friday night will be at 7.30pm and admission prices will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
