First team rounds off its season with a heavy defeat

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s final MMP with Norman Lloyd League second-division game of the season ended in a heavy defeat at Four Crosses.

To be fair, the recent upheaval in terms of the first team led to a large number of Reserve-team players making the trip and fair play to those players who turned out.

But Four Crosses showed just why they are chasing promotion this season and they ran out comfortable 8-0 winners on the day.

It was clearly the day for 8-0 wins at Hay St Mary’s beat visiting Machynlleth by the same margin.

Of more relevance, perhaps, to the first team was that Aberystwyth University went down 5-1 at home to Abermule.

This means the students remain seven points adrift of Presteigne at the foot of table with three games to play.
